Education start-up SuperProfs.com has announced recent developments in its service offering and funding. The virtual tutoring site is now teaming up with 100 of the best Indian professors to enhance the quality of their service. The company is also working to strengthen its finances, having secured $3 million in capital during its Series A round of fundraising.
SuperProfs.com, a product of Aurus Network, was founded in 2010 by graduates of world-renowned education institutes such as IITS, IIMS and Stanford University. The service coaches students in preparation for competitive examinations such as the IIT Joint Entrance Examination, Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering, Chartered Accountancy, Certified Management Accountancy, and Company Secretaryship.
The CEO of SuperProfs.com, Piyush Agarwal, explains the website’s initiation, motives and goals.

SuperProfs.com provides online students with video lectures and recorded classroom sessions. Students can also receive printed study materials that are home-delivered after subscribing to an online class.
More than 25,000 test takers have used the SuperProfs.com service for their exam preparations. Among the 100 distinguished professors and institutes that have decided to offer their classes online at SuperProfs.com are The GATE Academy offering GATE online coaching, Siddharth Academy from Mumbai, offering CS online coaching, Prof. Rajiv Singh from Delhi, who is a well-known expert for Strategic Financial Management, Delhi-based Prof.Sudhir Sachdeva who is known for his expertise on Law and Chennai-based Prof.Tharun Raj, who is South India’s most celebrated professor in the field of Indirect Taxes.
The $3 million capital that was raised came from Kalaari Capital and IDG Ventures India. The money will be used to increase the number of courses in the platform, and invest in expansion projects across India.
