What a silly comment, Mike.

There's a gaping hole in our economy that we're filling with workers from overseas, because American schools aren't preparing kids for today's jobs. If we don't follow Microsoft's lead and revamp K-12 curriculum to reflect the realities of the marketplace, our current economic slip will accelerate into a serious fall.

Quit being so afraid and think about your students.

I applaud the schools and Microsoft for doing this. Great licensed teachers who work for me are not confident teaching in some specialized area like Computer Science and Graphic Arts. Why is it that every time a school wants to get the best subject matter expert in front of a classroom of eager students, that a defensive teacher who does not have the knowledge to teach that subject has to make this about him or herself and his or her paycheck or reputation. Do your job well and encourage the teacher next door whether they are a Microsoft Engineer or a licensed Union teacher, if it is good for kids, then it is not about the adult and their paycheck or reputationvorcunion membership. Licensure and Union membership do NOT guarantee that we are placing in front of students subject area experts who are also good teachers .

Will these "teachers" have the same parameters to work under, so that when they are a huge success we can prove all our teachers are bad?
