I would like to know the name of the app/software for the reading assessments that Gina Tomassi uses on her iPad. Could you send that to me ? I teach in the elementary and think this is wonderful for all involved, teacher, student and parent.
Sincerely,
Jean Twohey

As a tech geek, I am always excited to read about programs that incorporate technology in creative ways to solve big problems. Computers have such big potential, in my view, and we're not even scratching the surface of it.

A friend of mine has a kid who is just about at the learning-to-read age. She bought a Nook, installed some learning programs on it and let him go to town. He looks at this whole thing like a game and keeps asking to do more and more lessons. That seems to me ideal: learning to read while not thinking it a chore.
