Fundraising secures new grass playing field for Heritage Elementary

Glendale, AZ (2/19/09) – Heritage Elementary School is now home to an emerald green grass playing field! The new field opens endless options for students to participate in additional sports and physical fitness, a real dream Superintendent Raena Janes has when she took over the school this past summer.

The need for an on-campus playing field at Heritage Elementary School has been on the radar of students, staff and administration for six years now. In the past, building a new field was just not in the budget.

Upon becoming the new director and superintendent of Heritage in fall 2009, Raena Janes embarked upon a mission to give students a new enthusiasm for sports and physical fitness through the construction of a new playing field.

By way of exciting fundraising projects and programs that were embraced within the school and in the nearby community, Heritage earned enough funding by December 2009 to bring in the new grass!

Today, students are enjoying their field for a variety of activities including football, kickball, afterschool games and of course, P.E class!
