Thank you Julia for making such great points. My parents did exactly as you suggested and learned the concept of consequences - both good and bad - and that I had to take the responsibility for my decisions and actions. They would counsel me if I got into trouble, but the solutionwas up to me, although I could always ask for help.

Yeah, I took some hard knocks, and rarely went back for more. I know how to identify problems, generate solutions and ask for help appropriately if I need it.

This had led to solid independent thinking and the solution of many complex problems and very creative thinking.

I was lucky to have such parents who would have been great fans of your teachings. I hope that because of your work, other parents, schools and other entities will get the message and the kids - and the society they will participate in and eventually run will be very much better than is the case now.

Thanks for your work and getting the message out.

Best Wishes,

This coddling approach to parenting, whether local or global, has deterred the exploratory nature of kids.
