First, I don't think that the only education agenda can be one aimed at low-income children. The school is predominantly working class, so why not give them good educations that they can not get in the local schools?

Second, I think it is becoming clear that there are application-ready families and those who don't really have it together. Obviously charters don't have application-challenged families and that's not entirely insignificant and should be ironed out by states' charter laws.

However, this is a terrific school and it's too bad to measure it by a yardstick that the school has absolutely no control over.

i am very intrigued about what they do, and why, and how.

but i am skeptical of the true effect of this school because you state "While the school has only has a small portion of students eligible for federally-subsidized lunch (a poverty indicater)"

and we all know more then anything else poverty is the number 1 problem effecting student success. and i shudder to think yet another person will stand up and talk up the wonders of charters, when that reality isn't acknowledged enough.

But i want to see their strategies, their organizational techniques because any success regardless of the caveats should be explored, copied and adjusted whenever possible
