The waste is just incredible. Just basic things like long showers instead of baths, keeping the sink running while brushing teeth, flushing toilets frequently. I am sure our parents had to be much more careful than us.

When I was a boy, we used to carry around empty wax juice boxes and go door to door for contributions for UNICEF. It didn't seem like much money then, but at this cost, the door to door collections must go a long way.

It surprised me that the girls are the ones that have to stay behind to do the chores, even though the boys are physically stronger.

Noted in the article were a number of areas where the progress has been slow. I would like to know what these areas are and what the reasons are for lack of progress.

Of course, the Asian culture is not really one culture, but many different cultures. But generally, based on my long experience in several Asian countries, Asians have strong beliefs in the importance of education and of hard work. I do not believe these beliefs are as strong in certain African, Middle Eastern, and South American countries.

If the cost numbers are accurate, it should require a very small contribution from anyone with any disposable income on the planet. There must be a way to collect more of this money.

I wonder how your costs are calculated. What is included in the cost line, such as local staff, supplies, recycling, sanitation, higher level experts, etcetera. The number per person seems quite low. Need to understand more about the details.
