Homeschool!

Wednesday, Dec, 08 at 1:06 pm,

Pamela Geller – You must homeschool. You must support homeschooling networks. If you are an expert in a field, you must volunteer to teach or offer your time to home schooling networks. You must build an alternate education system, the way we are building our alternate news dissemination system, because the left has completely destroyed our institutions.

What Did Klein Learn? Not Much, Apparently

Tuesday, Dec, 07 at 12:16 pm,

Michael Petrilli – I love Joel Klein. He made New York City a magnet for reform-minded entrepreneurs, sent forth more than a few excellent leaders to other big city school systems, and is never afraid to speak his truth. But his Wall Street Journal op-ed today is really lame.

The Importance of History, Part 23

Sunday, Dec, 05 at 1:51 pm,

In our education system we have seen the government completely secularize the teaching. Since 1962, Engel vs Vitale, we have seen students test score decline at an unbelievable rate. Scores have dropped from the 970’s in 1962 to the 880’s in just a few years. In International testing for math and science American high school students finish last, or in the bottom half.

Waiting for Superwoman

Friday, Dec, 03 at 11:32 am,

Kalman R. Hettleman – School reform nationally is on a roll. Sparked by nontraditional leaders, many urban school systems are dramatically raising expectations, test scores and graduation rates. Donna Garner – It is time to resurrect the article that I wrote back on 4.19.10 entitled “Marc Tucker’s Bologna.” Why? Take a look at Marc Tucker’s National Education and the Economy (NCEE) State Consortium on Board Examinations Systems (SCOBES).

Report on college attendance crisis for black males exaggerated

Friday, Nov, 26 at 12:28 pm,

In Amanda Castaño’s classroom in a Long Branch public preschool, the four-year-olds get ready for reading circle with a song: “A leer, a leer, todos calladitos!” The native English speakers in the group join in as enthusiastically as the Spanish speakers, and when Castaño begins reading the story – in Spanish – the entire class is rapt.

Moderate Baptists flunk U.S. history

Sunday, Nov, 14 at 11:14 am,

Dave Welch – In a move of stunning ignorance, the Baptist General Association of Virginia recently adopted a resolution taking a back-handed slap at the Texas State Board of Education's vote this year to restore accurate teaching of separation of church and state to social studies curriculum. For sake of reference, read the offensive language from Texas for yourself:

The Lone Star State’s Good Reasons for Going It Alone on Education Standards

Texas Governor Rick Perry was at The Heritage Foundation on Monday to speak on his new book FED UP!
