Teachers' furloughs lead board to change dates for school year
Because teachers will be taking furlough days in the next school year, the Poway school board has revised the dates students will start and finish school. Students will now start school on Aug. 20, two days later than previously scheduled, and end on June 8, 2010, two days earlier than scheduled.
