Dozen area schools overcome challenges to meet state standards

A dozen Missouri public schools that serve high concentrations of low-income students here have met the demands of the federal No Child Left Behind Act. Of the rest of the Missouri schools in the Kansas City area where at least two-thirds of the students qualify for subsidized lunch, 81 missed the federal benchmarks.
